Derek is the lead design engineer at Aurora Power & Design Inc. He graduated from Boise State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Derek started his Mechanical Engineering career at Aurora in 2008. Since then he has designed several alternative energy systems ranging from a few Watts up to 100kW, for residential and commercial applications and has managed the installation of many of them. His design specialties include solar PV system design, micro-hydro power systems, Batteries, data logging, wind turbine system design, and solar heating, for both grid tie and off grid applications. He is one of a handful of alternative energy professionals in the state to be certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) as a Certified Solar PV Installer. This is the most highly regarded certification available for solar installers in the US. He is also a licensed solar specialty installer in the State of Idaho.
Consultations are normally via email and the rate is per hour for the consideration and time in replying to your specific questions.
